Accounting Specialist AP/AR

POSITION PURPOSE:

Process all daily, weekly, and monthly detailed accounting transactions related to Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and other associated General Ledger (GL) activities. Update monthly and quarterly accounts payable/ receivable schedules, reports, and reconciliations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Accounts Payable

  • Responsible for coding and entering non-PO invoices and credits into SAP
  • Responsible for posting of PO related invoices and credits into SAP
  • Research PO problems/errors. Work with Purchasing as needed to resolve discrepancies.
  • Manage and maintain accurate data in the GR IR account (unmatched receipts).
  • Review and respond to all AP-related statement of account emails.
  • Create and maintain vendor files to ensure statutory compliance.
  • Organize and maintain annual accounts payable documents electronically.
  • Analyze posted expenses for correct cost center and account coding
  • Post and analyze monthly credit card expense reports, auto leasing details, payments, and insurance expenses.
  • Confirm and update vendor address and payment information
  • Update and maintain SAP system procedures and processes as necessary.
  • Assist with preparing documentation and schedules for the annual financial audit.
  • Support the Finance Manager as needed with various projects and analyses.

 

Accounts Receivable

  • Account for all AR banking transactions in SAP in accordance with the remittance information from customers.
  • Support processing of customer credit card payments.
  • Research and assist with customer requests as needed
  • Research and assist with other department request emails as needed
  • Assist in any other receivables-related duties as needed

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

  • Degree in accounting or finance preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years of AP – AR processing experience in SAP manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work/communicate with other departments at various levels.
  • Experience with Multi-State Sales & Use tax reporting desired.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have thorough research skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
