Quality, Environment and Health & Safety (QEHS) policy

Objectives: organizing and maintaining on a continuous basis the efficiency of our quality management system; ensuring the compliance of our QEHS organization and our products with legal requirements; ensuring that the security and integrity of our products and processes is not compromised by circumstantial considerations.

Objectives: protecting the environment by minimizing our impacts; preventing pollution with an efficient control system setup; carrying out our operations in compliance with legal requirements; promoting the efficient use of resources and energy; respecting our neighbors, their values and cultural heritages, and showing consideration for them in the conduct of our business.

Health & Safety

Objectives: providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and visitors to prevent injury and illness; consulting and involving our employees in the implementation of health and safety; identifying, reducing or eliminating hazards and risks; complying with legal and other requirements and ensuring compliance by management and each employee.

Quality management

Our quality management system is focused on consistently meeting our customers’ requirements and enhancing their satisfaction. Our products are manufactured according to rigorous and controlled processes that ensure the highest standards of quality.

Placing customer satisfaction at the heart of our activities is a major corporate objective. With our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management systems, we ensure excellence when meeting our customers’ requirements and enhancing their satisfaction.

The safety of medical patients is a primary concern in the development and provision of our products and services. Our organization being ISO 13485:2016 certified, we manufacture quality products that are safe and reliable for integration into medical devices.

We are regularly audited by our customers to ensure that we are compliant with main nuclear safety standards such as KTA 1401 from the Nuclear Safety Standards Commission (Kerntechnischer Ausschuss, KTA) and IAEA 50-C-Q from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Environmental responsibility

Our commitment to protecting the planet spans the entire lifecycle of our connectivity solutions, from our supply chain of raw materials, through our production, to our waste management system and energy consumption.

With our ISO 14001:2015 certified environmental management system, we efficiently manage our waste, work to prevent contamination and make efforts to reduce our environmental impact.

The Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) calls for the elimination of certain substances such as cadmium, lead, mercury, PBB, PBDE, DEHP, etc. (full list in Directive 2011/65/EU) from connectors as well.

While we do not manufacture or import chemicals – and therefore do not need to do any registration or pre-registration – we have taken every necessary measure to conform with the regulation concerning the EU Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and we regularly review the corresponding Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) candidate list.

The Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) is a United States law, administered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), that regulates chemical substances manufactured, processed, or imported in the United States to prevent unreasonable risks to health and the environment.

Proposition 65 (formally titled The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, also referred to as “CA Prop 65”) is a California law aiming to protect drinking water sources from toxic substances and to reduce or eliminate exposures to those chemicals generally, such as consumer products, by requiring warnings in advance of those exposures.

With our Sony Green Partner certification, we belong to a select group of Sony suppliers who cooperate in the production of environmentally sensitive products. Suppliers must renew their Green Partner approval on a regular basis.

People and societal responsibility

From hiring practices that encourage diversity, through ensuring a safe environment for employees and visitors, to developing sustainable solutions for our customers, we are committed to conducting our business in a way that’s human, responsible and ethical.

With our ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management certification, we can identify, control and decrease the risks associated with health and safety within the workplace.

We apply and adhere to the Responsible Business Alliance Code of Conduct which establishes standards to ensure that working conditions in our organization are safe, workers are treated with respect and dignity, and business operations are environmentally responsible and conducted ethically.

To the best of our knowledge, we are compliant with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which includes a section on the Disclosures on Conflict Minerals in or near the Democratic Republic of Congo. To ensure compliance, we have examined our suppliers’ statements on Conflict Minerals for gold (Au) and tin (Sn), materials used on our connectors. The Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) in reference to the Responsible Minerals Initiative is available upon request via email.

Supply chain

When suppliers in high-stakes industries gain access to the supply and prime contracting network of a given region or country, it is important to be able to demonstrate the quality of Fischer Connectors products and their compliance with the highest standards. Accreditation by supply chain registries signals to potential partners that our organization has been verified for its responsible sourcing, risk management, quality management system and financial health.

The Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR) is a system developed in the United Kingdom to streamline the accreditation of suppliers to the aerospace, defense and security industries. It is a central database where suppliers can provide information on their capabilities, certifications and financial health. This eliminates the need for suppliers to complete multiple questionnaires for different prime contractors. Certification is renewed annually.

At Fischer Connectors, we believe that even a connector company can change the world.
