For our new Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for a Quality Engineer – Customer Service.

 

The mission of a Quality Engineer is to ensure the quality of our products and the satisfaction of our customers.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:

  • Ensure the effective handling of assigned customer non-conformities and complaints.

  • Ensure the segregation and control of non-conforming products.

  • Define, implement, and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Prepare and issue 8D reports (in English and/or French) in response to customer non-conformities.

  • Lead problem-solving activities, perform root cause analysis, and follow up on the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

  • Prepare Certificates of Conformity in accordance with DIN EN 10204 or specific customer requirements.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the technical documentation applicable to products and processes (work instructions, procedures, specifications, etc.).

  • Propose and implement improvements to quality assurance processes aimed at reducing non-conforming products and scrap rates.

  • Inform the Quality Coordinator of any doubts, anomalies, or situations requiring production to be stopped.

  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

  • Use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and collective protective equipment.

  • Comply with the company’s resource waste reduction practices, including reducing consumption, reusing materials, and separating waste for recycling.

 

THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field).

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Technician, preferably within the automotive industry.

  • Solid technical knowledge of mechanics, engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, injection moulding, surface treatment, assembly, and testing/inspection processes.

  • Experience in handling non-conformities and customer complaints.

  • Experience in implementing structured problem-solving methodologies (Ishikawa, 5 Whys, 8D, Lessons Learned) and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Knowledge of the following standards: ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 13485, and DIN EN 10204.

  • Knowledge of measurement and inspection equipment, including its proper use and maintenance.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, as well as SAP.

  • Languages: Fluent English is required; knowledge of French and/or German would be considered an advantage.

  • Experience working with SAP.

  • Strong team player with an open-minded and flexible approach.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.

  • Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and critical problem-solving skills.

  • High level of accuracy, autonomy, and attention to detail.

  • Proactive mindset with a strong sense of initiative.
