For our new Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for an Facilities Technician to ensure the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of the factory’s internal and external infrastructures, promoting a safe, efficient, and sustainable working environment. Lead energy efficiency initiatives, manage external resources, and oversee expansion projects and layout modifications aligned with the company’s strategic needs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:
- Infrastructure Maintenance:
Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for internal and external infrastructures.
Identify and implement continuous improvement processes in maintenance systems.
- Consumption Management and Sustainability:
Monitor and optimize energy and resource consumption, promoting sustainable practices.
Develop strategies to reduce operational costs and improve energy efficiency.
- Management of External Spaces and Operational Services:
Oversee the upkeep of green spaces, recreational areas, and circulation zones.
Supervise cleaning services, canteen operations, and vehicle fleet management, ensuring effective coordination of subcontracted teams.
- Continuous Improvement Projects:
Actively participate in factory improvement projects and, when applicable, lead their implementation.
Update and maintain the factory layout according to changes or expansions.
- Expansion and Infrastructure Management:
Prepare and negotiate quotations for the construction of new buildings or modifications to existing ones.
When approved, plan, follow and coordinate until deliver, those projects (construction) in industrial campus
Ensure expansion projects comply with regulations and corporate standards.
- Maintenance Team Collaboration:
Be a backup inside maintenance team, being capable of creating preventive maintenance instructions in our CMMS, order and manage spare parts, help maintenance technicians in corrective and preventive maintenance tasks when needed.
THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related fields) or equivalent.
Fluency in English and Portuguese (C1 – Mandatory)
Minimum of 1 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in an industrial environment.
Expertise in preventive and predictive maintenance.
Experience in managing infrastructure projects and factory layouts.
Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices.
Ability to prepare budgets and cost-benefit analyses for projects.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities, including subcontracted resources.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Proficiency in maintenance management software and layout tools.
