New fiber optic solutions for hassle-free deployment in the field

At the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam from 10-14 September, we are launching two new fiber optic accessories for broadcast applications.

The new daisy chaining and loopback accessories, coupled with the Fischer FiberOptic Series, are designed to simplify broadcasting teams’ lives by making fiber optic deployment and transmission testing in the field as easy as child’s play.

The new daisy chaining adapter connects the plugs on each reel, enabling several reels to be connected quickly and seamlessly. The loopback offers a shortcut to speed up testing, so that even someone working alone can ensure everything is in perfect working order; by shining a light down the first fiber, you can check if light appears on the second fiber, without having to walk right to the end to take a look.

The accessories come along with Fischer Connectors’ pre-configured FiberOptic reels of any required length, a convenient and flexible turnkey solution.

We’ve developed these new accessories to meet broadcasters’ specific challenges. They told us they waste a lot of time setting up the reels and going backwards and forwards checking that everything works properly. Our new fiber optic solution is easy to use, fast to deploy, and highly reliable in terms of performance”, says Jacques Miéville, FiberOptic Product Manager at Fischer Connectors.

Faultless optic performance indoors and outdoors

The two new accessories are part of the Fischer FiberOptic Series, which is ideally suited for broadcast applications. Fischer FiberOptic Series connectors provide faultless quality for both indoor and outdoor use, even in harsh environments. They come pre-cabled, with a removable sleeve holder (monobloc mate adapter) and a push-pull locking system, making them easy to connect, disconnect, and disassemble for quick field cleaning and maintenance. The Fischer FiberOptic Series is available in two versions: a rugged fiber optic connector with two or four fibers, and a rugged hybrid connector with two fiber channels and two electrical contacts.
