For our new Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for an Manufacturing Process Engineer that will be is in charge of maintaining and improve the manufacturing processes in order to improve production efficiency, quality and product competitiveness throughout their lifecycle.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:

 

Industrialization and New Product Introduction:
• Participate in the introduction of new products and processes into production.
• Anticipate industrialization needs for new projects, in coordination with R&D.
• Define, test, and validate process and machine parameters.
• Document the results of manufacturing tests and validations.
• Propose and implement engineering changes whenever necessary.
• Adapt production routings, tools, and manufacturing times.

 

Continuous Improvement and Production Support:
• Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
• Organize and conduct structured problem-solving activities (e.g., root cause analysis).
• Develop and implement improvement measures with a focus on cost reduction and process optimization.
• Provide technical support to production in resolving process-related issues.
• Participate in development project reviews, contributing to design improvement.
• Deliver technical training to team leaders and operators.

 

Data and Process Management
• Validate and maintain production master data (routings, times, parameters).
• Ensure the continuous updating and improvement of manufacturing routings.
• Analyze and optimize production times.
• Collaborate with maintenance on equipment improvement.

 

THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, or a related field.
– Experience in an industrial environment (minimum of 3 years is preferred).
– Knowledge of manufacturing and industrialization processes.
– Fluent English (mandatory).

– Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and sense of responsibility.

– Experience in structured problem analysis and solving.
– Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP).
– Experience in optimizing production times and processes.
– Knowledge of processes such as manual welding, plastic injection molding, leak testing, potting, and laser processing.
– Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
– Ability to manage priorities effectively
– Dynamic attitude and critical thinking skills
