For our Plant in Amarante, near Porto, we are looking for an Plant Cost Analyst.
The purpose of this position is to enable and achieve the cost competitiveness objectives. To that effect, the plant cost analyst ensures that management can consistently get impactful recommendations, based on insightful financial perspectives that are rooted in a high-quality understanding of the cost landscape. In this position the plant cost analyst will be providing highly reliable information to take decision and give access to consistently reliable data.
The cost analyst is a key enabler for the group’s management and its operations leader to develop its strategies by mastering the financial flows, allowing to ensure the relevance of the valuation of the financial database.
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:
1. DRIVE IMPACTFUL COST IMPROVEMENTS
– Calculate and monitor activity prices (hourly rates).
– Manage overheads, analyze and maintain allocation rates.
– Monitor and analyze absorption gaps of direct and indirect manufacturing costs.
– Weighted average price monitoring and analysis.
– Proposal strength on the various cost reduction opportunities.
2. DEVELOP INSIGHTS AND PROVIDE INFORMATION TO UNDERSTAND OUR COST LANDSCAPE
– Implement and maintain direct production costs tracking table.
– Implement and maintain overhead costs tracking table.
– Value stocks and work in progress, set up dashboards to monitor deviations.
– Prepare and analyze plant investment opportunities ROI, support CAPEX reporting.
– Process a quarterly reconciliation between goods receipts (GR) and invoiced entries (IR).
– Analysis and resolution of quantity differences between invoices and system actuals.
– Collaborate in monthly and annual closings, as well as in reporting.
– Ensure compliance with the application of accounting & costing standards.
– Assist the plant management team in understanding plant costs.
3. PROVIDE FORESIGHT & COORDINATE PLANNING
– Participate in the budget & forecast process, OPEX and CAPEX parts.
– In charge of the definition and monitoring of standard costs, calculation and analysis of production gaps.
4. STRENGHTEN COST CONTROLS & PROCESSES
– Implementation of process improvement and monitoring.
– Participation in different projects.
– Give support to the group cost analysis team.
THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING
– Cost analysis experience of 5-10 years, in technological, industrial or FMCG environment.
– Excellent understanding of the supply chain with knowledge of a major ERP, SAP beeing a plus
– Expert Excel user, familiar with BI tools
– Fluent in English (C1 level required) and Portuguese , oral French is a plus
– Desire to work in a fast paced, high growth environment
– Excellent analytical skills, very comfortable with figures. Critical mind, capacity for synthesis and communication.
