For our new Plant in Amarante, near Oporto, Portugal, we are looking for an IT Support Technician to perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional IT helpdesk support service by finding solutions to technical hardware and software problems, addressing incidents, completing projects, gathering user requirements: 

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE:

 

Provide IT support to users at levels 1 and 2 users 

  • Develops and assists with technical and operational solutions through collaboration with other technical services staff. Assisting with troubleshooting systems/infrastructure and computer root cause analysis by working with other technical services team members. Documents solutions and adds them to the published knowledge base. Reviews knowledge base entries for accuracy and makes updates as necessary.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated end-user workstation hardware, software, networking software product and other IT equipment.
  • Provide technical and application support via phone, email, or in person, advanced problem diagnosis, root cause analysis, communication and solving.
  • Guide users through troubleshooting steps.
  • Maintains Department IT inventory system by keeping up-to-date and accurate records of serialized asset information.
  • Assist hardware and software rollouts, special projects, and testing within specified deadlines and training users as needed.
  • Implement all procedures relating to security, backup, disaster recovery and acceptable use.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Building positive relationships with stakeholders
  • This position will include travel to other subsidiaries when needed.

 

Infrastructure Systems: monitor, report and assist

  • Servers: AD, file, application, network and telecom, Mailbox, VPN, business, and Windows applications
  • Backup and systems restoring.
  • VOIP telephony
  • Network infrastructure
  • Manage user access rights.
  • Document procedures related to information systems.
  • Optimize the performance of computer environments.

 

IT Projects

    • Participate actively in IT projects, business needs analysis, solution study and proposal, implementation, users training and documentation creation.

 

THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

  • Information Technology degree
  • 3+ years of experience as Support Technician
  • Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and software
  • knowledge of deployment of Microsoft systems and software: Server, Client, AD, WSUS, Office 365
  • Relevant technical qualifications in Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments.
  • Highly developed diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Good understanding of network infrastructure, servers and databases.
