Defense Business Development Manager

Position Summary:

The Defense Business Development Manager will drive US revenue growth for the Fischer KEYSTONE series of tactical connectivity solutions. By working directly with DOD/Army program offices and prime contractors for tactical communications and sensor systems (radios, cameras, power supplies and other soldier system components) the Defense Business Development Manager generates sales opportunities and close these opportunities. By engaging with the engineering and technical staffs of prospective customers, the Defense Business Development Manager assists the KEYSTONE product development team to enhance the KEYSTONE product offering and rapidly to adapt the product to meet emerging customer requirements. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • You will be the primary US customer-facing professional leading the growth of the Fischer KEYSTONE series of products to US customers.
  • You will be directly responsible for generating new prospects and building a sales pipeline, introducing prospective new customers to the KEYSTONE series of tactical connectivity solutions, understanding the technical and commercial requirements of these prospective customers, and winning the opportunities that you generate.
  • You will train a part of the sales team on the defense customers’ buying processes and the unique commercial requirements of the US defense market including information security and contracting processes.
  • You will be a significant technical contributor to future development of enhancements to the KEYSTONE solution offering by translating customer functional requirements and standards into technical guidance for the KEYSTONE product development team.
  • You will support the US commercial and technical team in understanding and complying with DOD standards and policies.
  • You will guide marketing and communication efforts to raise awareness of the KEYSTONE series to US customers through trade show presence, published material and other media.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Success with sales of tactical digital communications or sensor products to US Army government and commercial customers
  • Success in generating new customers by personal networking
  • Knowledge of US DOD/Army programs for soldier-wearable digital solutions
  • Engineering degree (electrical engineering computer science or related field)
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Able to travel worldwide as required to meet with customers and business partners
  • Able to obtain a US Secret-level security clearance.

 

Desirable Qualifications:
