R&D Product Development Engineer

Saint-Prex (VD), Switzerland

The R&D engineer will be responsible for defining and designing new connectivity solutions. You will provide a structured design engineering approach from concept to production in alignment with the Product Development Process such as stage gate, lean or agile. Developing and delivering qualified design solutions according to requirement on project timeline, budget and quality. Complete product verification using simulation, prototype testing and final product qualification supported by failure analyses approach. The position requires internal interaction cross-services from business development, manufacturing and quality as well as direct communication with customers and suppliers.




  • Design and develop new product related to connectors and connectivity solutions
  • Lead product development activities: translate product requirements into technical specifications, drive concept development and idea generation to the design of components and assemblies using 3D CAD in cooperation with designers, FMEA, qualification plan and product validation
  • Facilitate Design review of project, design verification, design validation and key milestones of new development until production ramp-up  Develop knowledge of technology state-of-the-art and continuous improvement
  • Ensure alignment in the product development process (PDP), a consistent design control practice during development and along the life cycle (ECM) mastering failure analysis standards
  • Work effectively within multi-functional, multi-location project teams
  • Lead smaller development projects and sub-projects
  • Ensure quality through the use of relevant international standards and tools




  • Master’s in relevant discipline, Mechanical, Electro Mechanical, System engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of related working experience with an understanding on multi-technology product design (CREO preferred), R&D business processes and tools (PDP, PLM)
  • Demonstrate great technology state-of-the-art awareness and team player, focused on achieving best team outcomes through collaboration
  • Demonstrate self-management, time management, strong problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French)
