Mechanical Solutions Engineer

Saint-Prex, Switzerland

Our R&D team is looking for an experienced Mechanical Solutions Engineer to contribute to the development of tailored customer solutions related to physical connectivity ensuring power, data and signal transfer build on connector, cable assembly and electronic solutions.

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE

  • Understand customer technical challenges and transform them into technical solutions
  • Establish and participate to the design of connectivity solutions with a strong mechanical system contribution
  • Collaborate with engineers from the global footprint (Design, Electronics, SI, Logistics, etc) to develop and review technical solutions that implement the customer’s needs
  • Generate technical drawings and create commercial proposal together with the Sales Team
  • Manage projects from development until hand-over to Operations depending on complexity
  • Conduct inspiring face to face customer visits in collaboration with the Sales Force and Key Account Managers (up to 20% customer contact (call & visit))
  • Supervise new (complex and key-account) products from conception to development, prototyping and first production, in collaboration with the dedicated Project Manager
  • Keep up to date with advancing and improving technologies (products, processes and manufacturing capabilities)
  • Nurture our solutions portfolio
  • Improve workflow and tools to optimize connectivity solutions offers

 

THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HES ideally) in relevant engineering disciplines such as microtechnology or mechanical engineering.
  • Background or proven experience in new product development
  • Experience in Customer facing activities
  • Experience with CAD software (CREO is a plus)
  • Experience with ERP software, ideally SAP
  • Able to work in French and English (B2 level minimum, C1 preferred); German or Italian are a plus
  • Knowledge in one or several of the following sectors is welcome: connectivity, precision mechanical engineering, watchmaking
