FISCHER OFFERS A DEDICATED CONNECTOR RANGE FOR TODAY'S EXTREME BROADCASTING

Viewers today are no longer satisfied with passively watching sports. Fischer Connectors will be demonstrating its proven line of "extreme" broadcast products and accessories specially designed to "take it to the limits" at the 2009 IBC Exhibition, September 11th - 15th, in Amsterdam. Able to withstand ocean depths of 100 meters, crash tests, explosions, melting processes, vibrations, deep-freeze temperatures, salt water spray, sand storms, torrential rains, and even rapid rivers, Fischer Connectors' products help make viewers part of the action. Whether it's Fisher's ultra-light AluLite™ connectors, the waterproof and rugged 1051 Triax, or cable assemblies, its products satisfy the requirements of the most extreme operational environments, especially for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) now used in so many broadcast applications.

The goal of ultra-light UAV filming equipment is to enhance viewers' experiences and place them in the midst of the action. This requires the UAV to float or fly over the action. Broadcasters know that every 100 grams saved in weight increases flight time by about one hour. So when Fischer introduced its AluLite series of rugged, compact connectors with excellent durability, and only 50% of the weight of standard metal connectors, manufacturers of UAVs found the solution they had been seeking. The result is a better picture with lower production costs.

"The evolution of the broadcast market has required programming to become more like interactive games," says Daniel Spycher, International Sales Director for Fischer Connectors SA, in Switzerland. "This has caused equipment manufacturers to design environmentally rugged, lightweight and highly portable equipment. Suppliers to the broadcast industry must continually be revolutionaries -- pushing technology to its limits, while guaranteeing reliability. And Fischer has managed to balance both."

"Fischer's durable connectors and cable assemblies are extremely robust and perfectly adapted for these demanding environments," said Salvatore Brambilla, Managing Director for Fischer Connectors Srl in Italy. "RAI, the largest television company in Italy, selected Fischer Connectors to help ensure flawless transmission for the recent 13th FINA World Championship held in Roma, Italy." RAI used more than 300 kilometers of cable and 70 cameras, including six on railings, three underwater, and four cameras suspended on wires over the pools to follow the swimmers in FINA's five aquatic sports --swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo and open water.

In addition to offering connectors for broadcast product accessories, Fischer also offers camera connectors, such as the 1051 with its new improvements that include increased bandwidth, robust structure, and ease of cabling and cleaning. The use of the 1051 for HD transmission is well documented and respected in the field.

The company plans to continually adapt its products to satisfy the demands of further miniaturization in broadcast equipment design and the use of UAVs. Its goals include continuously improving viewers' demands for extreme broadcasting experiences while increasing the user-friendliness for shooting crews. For more than 50 years, Fischer Connectors has been designing, manufacturing and distributing high-performance connectors and cable assembly solutions. Known for their reliability, precision, and resistance to demanding environments, its products are commonly used in high end electronic equipment such as broadcasting, medical apparatus, scientific or instrumentation devices, defense and security systems. Primary design and manufacturing facilities are located in Switzerland, with subsidiaries and distributors located worldwide. For more information, log on to www.fischerconnectors.com
